Along the lines of the Google Map Creator comes this little service: MapLib.net automatically creates a Google Map based on an arbitrary image you upload. The whole process is a no-brainer, you upload the image (from 500×500 to 6000×6000 pixels) and a zoomable/pannable Google-Maps-Version of it will be created instantly. The service is hosted, which means you don’t get to access the generated tile images themselves, but the service lets you copy-and-paste the relevant HTML snippet to embed the image into your own Web page. There’s already maps of Middle Earth, World of Warcraft, Guildwars, Eve Online, the island from the Lost TV series… my god, what a world of geeks this is 😉
