WikiVienna is one of the projects I’m currently involved with. Essentially, the project combines image-based 3D reconstruction and the “location based social application” concept to create a collaborative multimedia information system for the city of Vienna. (Sounds strange enough?) Even though we have just started a few weeks ago, we’ve already received quite a bit of media attention (and being a conservative research-nerd I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing ;-) )

Anyways, here’s a press release from pressetext.at, and there’s also a short radio interview (yes, with me!) from Austrian radio station Radio Arabella available as a podcast.

The stuff is german-only, sorry for that. But since the project is so new, there was no time to prepare any official info material yet. Needless to say, of course, that the Google translation is – as always – worth a read, too :-D (BTW: the german word ‘Handy’ translates to ‘mobile phone’ just in case you’re wondering.)
